The Covenant Garden: Feeding God's People

The church provides the land and water for a large garden cared for by the 8th Street Mission for Jesus Christ. The Mission residents plant, maintain and harvest the garden. The vegetables produced are used by the Mission to feed the individuals who reside at the Mission and the many and varied persons from the community who are fed at the mission. Any remaining vegetables are sold, and the money goes to the 8th Street Mission. We are very pleased to be able to help feed the hungry in this joint effort with the 8th Street Mission for Jesus Christ.
Our Continuing Partnership with the 8th Street Mission
The church also supports the 8th Street Mission for Jesus Christ monetarily throughout the year, with special donations made during the holidays. We assist the Mission in purchasing toys for children who otherwise would not receive gifts for Christmas. Rev. Jill Westbrook serves on the Board of Directors for the 8th Street Mission and helps to ensure that all are cared for with God's love and compassion.
